P4 Pathways Program
P4 Healthcare and CareFirst®' BlueCross® BlueShield® and CareFirst®' BlueChoice, Inc. are proud to announce the P4 Pathways Program
The P4 Pathways program is designed to promote the delivery of high quality, cost efficient patient care. Currently, the P4 Pathways Program provides physicians with evidence-based clinical pathways for breast, lung and colon cancers, as well as the supportive care areas of neutropenia, anemia and nausea/vomiting, with additional pathways to follow. The pathways were developed by and will be updated by local community and academic oncologists. Following these treatment pathways will ensure that patients receive high-quality, cost effective care. In addition, treatment pathways help payors better manage and predict health costs, which allows physicians to earn an increased reimbursement rate.
P4 Pathways Program was designed to provide patients with the right care at the right time: The goal of this program is to provide the highest quality of care for patients through locally developed evidence-based clinical pathways. The P4 Pathways Program gives oncologists the flexibility to take into account specific patient characteristics that necessitate deviation from the pathway while still being able to maintain an acceptable compliance level. This will help ensure that all patients are treated appropriately.
